ATA is working with a large manufacturing group, looking for an experienced mechanical maintenance fitter to join their team. The company, which turns over £400 million, has a fantastic reputation within their market space. Due to recent changes in legislation, they have seen a huge increase in the need for their product. This increase has allowed them to put forward exciting plans to improve site efficiency, upgrade machinery, and increase the size of their production team. This will be spearheaded by a diverse and down-to-earth plant manager, alongside an experienced operations team. This opportunity is fantastic for any mechanical tech or fitter looking for stability and long-term employment.
About the Role
As a maintenance fitter (maintenance tech), you will be responsible for the diagnosis and maintenance of all mechanical components and machinery. Responsibilities will include:
- Job role is quite prescriptive; they will be given different tasks daily.
- Supporting the shift maintenance team.
- Planned maintenance.
- Inspection of belts, cleaning of components, inspection of tension, checking points, greasing, and lubrication of components.
- Some fault finding to support with breakdown work, but most likely assisting the shift team.
About You
To be considered for this lead maintenance fitter (maintenance tech) role, you should have/be the following:
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment and knowledge of components.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in working towards KPIs within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience and knowledge of health and safety, completing RAMS.
- Able to work in pressurised situations and make decisions confidently.
- Time served or qualified with a level 3 engineering qualification.
