The Company
Our client is an innovative and forward-thinking utilities organisation, committed to transforming how energy supply operates. They are looking for an interim Controls Manager to help deliver work for the updated 2024 Corporate Governance code.

The Role
You will work as key member of the centralised team within the Chief Risk Office working with the business to help define and develop the material controls relevant to Provision 29. You will work with the business to validate these controls and ensure they are articulated and documented correctly (5Ws) and advise the business on how to stand up any new controls identified and required within their area of the business. You will support the CRO team with developing the approach to assuring these controls in a consistent way as part of a 'dry run' exercise and provide Quality Review over testing performed by the business on the design and operating effectiveness of their material controls.

The Person
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have significant knowledge of the updated 2024 Corporate Governance Code specifically the requirements around material controls under Provision 29. You will be a specialist in controls used to working with stakeholders at all levels. The ideal background would be someone with an ACA/ACCA background in practice who has worked in a complex audit environment and then moved into risk and controls across financial, operational and strategic risk.
