Location: Warwick (Base Location)
Salary Range: 50,000 - 60,000

Are you a Risk Engineer with construction experience looking for a flexible hybrid role working client side?

You'll join a growing team led by a Senior Engineer, managing risk, estimation, and costs. The team currently includes four risk engineers, and the goal is to expand rapidly over the next year. The company fosters a supportive and collaborative culture, with opportunities to engage in diverse projects ranging from infrastructure to innovation. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Duties of the Risk Engineer:

  • You will manage and develop the project's risk profile and contingency plans to ensure they meet the appropriate level of detail.
  • Be accountable for developing risk strategies and methodologies, working closely with the project team to identify gaps and gather essential information for project cost estimation and risk management.
  • Improve the quality of available data and produce accurate risk registers and contingency plans.
  • Work closely with a team of risk engineers under the leadership of a Senior Engineer and be involved in a variety of projects, including Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, and other infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Risk Engineer:

  • Liaise with the project team to establish the project scope and expectations.
  • Identify gaps in available information necessary for cost estimation and risk management.
  • Challenge project details and obtain any missing information to support the development of assumptions.
  • Track project progress and manage governance reviews and sign-offs.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to establish the project baseline, including scope, program, cost estimates, and contingency plans.
  • Ensure every project has an updated risk register.

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Risk Management or a related field (preferably in construction or infrastructure)
  • Membership with Risk Engineers or Cost Engineers is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of two days working in Warwick (Monday - Tuesday), with overnight stays covered if required.
  • Proven experience in managing risk within gas construction or general construction infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in utilities and constructability, interpreting technical and cost-related information.
  • Must have a full driving license and access to a car.
  • Strong experience with stakeholder management and collaborative teamwork.
