Daniel Owen is looking for a Document Controller to join a well-established company specialising in high-end interior fit-outs and construction projects. Position: Document Controller

Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 per annum + Package

The Document Controller is crucial in ensuring the efficient management, organisation, and distribution of project-related documents. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and security of project documentation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management, organisation, and distribution of project documentation to ensure efficient document control processes.
  • Implement and maintain document control procedures and standards to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Manage and track project documentation, including drawings, reports, specifications, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Maintain an organised filing system (both electronic and physical) to ensure easy retrieval of documents when required.
  • Ensure version control is properly maintained, preventing unauthorised or outdated documents from being used.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors to facilitate the smooth flow of documentation.
  • Ensure all project documents are reviewed, approved, and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required for project meetings, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Provide training and support to staff on document control processes and systems.

Required skills & experience:

  • Proven experience in a document control role, preferably within the construction, fit-out, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of document management systems and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document control software.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in managing project documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
