We are pleased to be supporting a leading engineering consultancy with a Chief Electronics Engineering opportunity based in the midlands who are going from strength to strength with recent business acquisitions further enhancing their capabilities.
Our client work on complex design and delivery of electrified propulsion systems within the automotive, off-highway, aerospace/defence, marine and energy sectors.

The Role
We are looking for a Chief Engineer or an excellent Principal Engineer that is ready to step up to be part of the growing electric propulsion team. You will deliver embedded HV power electronics solutions for a wide variety of applications from clean sheet through to fully validated, production ready hardware using the latest in tools and technology within the fully equipped facility.
The role is very diverse so you will require a strong technical power electronics background as well as have good commercial and customer management skills.

The Ideal Candidate

Technical

  • Excellent knowledge of power electronics and magnetics technology.
  • Experience of full lifecycle design through to validation testing to volume production and field application
  • Strong knowledge of high voltage systems, gate drivers and device protection
  • Good knowledge of EMC
  • Familiarity with major standards relating to electrical and functional safety, EMC and OEM
  • Strong expertise in thermal simulation and management for power electronics and electromagnetic systems

Project Delivery

  • A strong technical reputation, good customer facing skills and cultural awareness when working with a wide range of global customers and suppliers
  • A proven record of successfully planning, selling, leading and delivering large, multi-disciplinary product development projects
  • Manage multi person/cross functional projects to achieve budgeted margin and maintain an excellent relationship with customers, while mitigating technical and commercial risks

Leadership

  • Good ability to lead technical training and mentoring of colleagues and customer engineers of differing abilities
  • Taking an active role in the professional development of others within the function
