Having a growing national reputation for diagnostic behavioural work, the practice attracts UK-wide referrals and inquiries from families, health and educational professionals, and Social Services, and even requests from Europe.

As an Associate Clinician, you will need the following:
  • Professional qualification as a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist - MRCPCH or MRCPsych
  • Registration with the GMC
  • Consultant level or experienced non-training grade with demonstrable interest and experience in behavioural / neuro-developmental conditions
  • A clear Enhanced DBS
  • Outstanding communication skills both in spoken and written communication
  • Outstanding empathy and intuition
  • Natural inclination to share our core, patient-centered values
  • Strong work ethic
  • Meticulous attention to detail where patients and their care are concerned
  • Strong team player with both professional and administrative colleagues used to operating in a level playing field and demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with others, supporting them where possible
What the post involves:
You will be responsible for administering the clinical assessment, making the diagnostic decision with the full support of a fellow Senior Medical Supervisor and feeding back your outcome to the client and their family verbally and in writing, as well as providing medication treatment and reviews, and referring patients to NHS, if requested, or specialist services if needed.

Duties include:
  • Assessing children and young people for ADHD or ASD, considering differential and/co-occurring conditions to make diagnostic decisions
  • Taking a full history of the patient
  • Carrying out a full appropriate examination including growth parameters and cardiac examination
  • Taking into account other factors such as severe anxiety, the age of the child, and the development of the child when planning treatment
  • Understanding of the autonomy of a teenager and young adult
  • Using clinical judgement and experience to apply appropriate treatment
  • Formulating and implementing plans for the treatment and medication of patients using NICE guidelines in line with national/local formularies and Healthcare4Kids expertise

Salary: 37 - 42% of appointment remuneration depending on experience. Annual salary will equate to circa £80,000 - £95,000 per annum. (The client does not want to be responsible for any VAT payments).

Hours: Ideally full-time at 37.5 hours per week, or part-time.

Location: Leamington Spa (x1 or 2 days per week may be required in Stratford Upon Avon).
