About the role:

We are seeking to appoint a Lead Retrofit Coordinator to own the and drive our retrofit coordination team and take ownership from inception to completion of all projects that are required to comply with Publicly Available Specification 2035 (PAS 2035). When discharging those duties, the Lead Retrofit Coordinator is required to always act in the interests of both the Client (i.e. the occupants, the landlord and the funding body, or some combination of them) and the public.

The focus of this role is to undertake, coordinate or oversee the activities during retrofit projects, ensuring compliance with the requirements of PAS 2035 and lead a small team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert within retrofit coordination to our clients and internally.
  • Agree with clients on the intended outcomes of each project undertaken.
  • Revisit outcomes where appropriate and consult with all clients, including Resident Clients.
  • Risk assesses projects to determine PAS 2035 risk grades and paths.
  • Oversee Whole-dwelling Assessments by qualified Retrofit Assessors.
  • Prepare Improvement Option Evaluations to identify appropriate improvements.
  • Create Medium-Term Improvement Plans for dwellings or types.
  • Advise and agree with clients on the measures to be installed.
  • Discuss where appropriate with Retrofit Designers to ensure all information is available to enable the most appropriate PAS 2035 compliant design.
  • Oversee the design and specification of the selected measures by Retrofit Designers.
  • Oversee and monitor the process of installing selected measures in accordance with designs.
  • Oversee the testing, completion, and handover of completed installations.
  • Ensure the provision of energy advice by a suitably qualified advisor to Resident Clients and landlords at three stages of each project.
  • Complete basic evaluation of projects and feedback to clients and project teams.
  • Collate evidence that all the above activities have been completed in accordance with the requirements of PAS 2035 and submit that evidence to organisations requiring compliance.
  • Undertake intermediate or advanced monitoring of the work of other Retrofit Coordinators in cases in which the intended outcomes have not been achieved or unintended consequences produced.

Experience and Skills:

  • The Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management, this is an essential requirement for PAS 2035 compliance.
  • Trustmark accreditation with proven experience within retrofit coordination.
  • Management experience advantageous.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of audiences.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to build sustainable relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and workers.
  • Experience acting as an advocate and technical advisor on projects.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments in the built environment sector.
  • Outstanding organisational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
