You’ll be at the heart of site safety, making sure everything is compliant, up to date, and improving where possible. You’ll work closely with all departments, support audits, keep policies on track, and ensure that health, safety, and environmental standards are met; no compromises.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the EHST Manager and step in when needed
  • Keep the site compliant with health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments; identifying hazards before they become problems
  • Own COSHH compliance, ensuring safe storage and handling
  • Work with external regulatory bodies, handling audits and reporting requirements
  • Run training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
  • Investigate incidents properly; find the root cause and prevent repeat issues
  • Support ISO accreditations and ensure professional standards are met
  • Keep safety boards updated and information flowing across teams

What We Need From You

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment (waste management preferred)
  • Health & Safety knowledge—risk assessments, audits, compliance
  • Qualifications: IOSH or NEBOSH (or working towards it), WAMITAB/COTC preferred
  • Strong communication skills; you’ll work with all levels of the business
  • Attention to detail; small mistakes can have big consequences
  • Proactive mindset; spot problems and fix them before they escalate
