Astute's Renewables team is partnering with, a global leader in solar energy solutions, to recruit a PV Engineer for their UK operations.

The strategically important PV Engineer role comes with a competitive salary ranging from 35,000 to 43,000 (rising upon SCADA training), bonus opportunities, and an excellent benefits package, including health cover and pension contributions.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the O&M Manager, you will:

  • Perform routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems.
  • Fault-find on both AC and DC systems, including AC distribution boards, combiner boxes, automation panels, and central inverters.
  • Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations.
  • Provide detailed site visit reports via the online reporting system.
  • Occasionally travel overnight or work weekends on a rota basis (with additional pay).
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance as per the annual plan and operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical testing suitable for audit.
  • Comply with all fire, health, and safety requirements and attend relevant training.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in Electrical Installations.
  • C&G 2382-18 and C&G 2391-52 or equivalent (Test & Inspect).
  • HV AP qualification.
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures, AC/DC electrical systems, and high-voltage systems (33kV).
  • Previous utility scale solar experience or commercial
  • SCADA systems are desirable (training provided if required).

  • Salary: 35,000-43,000 (DOE)
  • Weekend rota pay: additional 6,000 per annum.
