Job Title: Project Manager (Control Systems)

Duration: 6 Months Initial Contract (Project ends 2027)

Location: Warwick/East Of England (30-50% WFH)

Jon Purpose

This role is required to fulfil the requirements for delivery of Electrical Control System and Instrumentation replacement projects in line with the RIIO T2 plan. Management of investment from early project lifecycle FEED, through to delivery and handover, of Control System upgrade or replacement projects.

To deliver capital projects to time, cost, specification in accordance with the Network Development Process and to ensure health, safety, quality and environmental issues are managed throughout the project.

This role will have end to end accountability for the definition, development, delivery and closure of investment projects for Gas Transmission, ensuring the delivery of projects which meet all safety, environmental, functional performance, financial performance and regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver designated projects to the highest standard of safety and environmental protection in the Construction industry.
  • Manage resources, processes, contracts, business procedures and system accesses to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, economically, and on time.
  • Represent the Senior Project Manager, as required.
  • Ensure all construction risks are identified, assessed and mitigated throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work closely with the GT Investment and Regulation teams for regulatory reporting and Uncertainty Mechanism submissions, as required.
  • Ensure schemes remain within governance (scope, cost and schedule).
  • Work as part of the Control System project team, indirect matrix organisation supporting the investment and external suppliers working in partnership with the company.
  • Assist the project team in developing and implementing process changes resulting from organisational change.
  • Provide accurate and timely project reports to the Senior Project Manager as required, including accurate monthly spend forecasts
  • Undertake the role of Project Manager for designated schemes as required including NEC4 contract administration
  • Make informed decisions on the delivery of projects within the Capital plan ensuring delivery to scope, time, cost, quality, SHES and security of supply.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of successful project delivery and project team working.
  • Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
  • Experience of different contract management types, including NEC4 Option A, C and E.
  • Understanding and Experience of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.
  • Educated to at least HNC level or equivalent, ideally leading to Chartered status or similar in the field of engineering or contract/project management or relevant experience
  • Ideally supported by recognised training or qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental and Financial management
