About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated Non-Qualified SEN Teacher to deliver PSHE lessons in an outdoor learning environment for students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children in line with their academic and pastoral targets, fostering a nurturing and inclusive educational setting. 

Key Responsibilities•    Plan and deliver engaging PSHE lessons tailored to students’ individual needs•    Build trusting relationships to support students’ emotional and academic development•    Use behaviour management techniques with a focus on resolution and reflection•    Encourage outdoor learning experiences to enhance student engagement•    Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals•    Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly•    Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation•    Contribute to the overall ethos and positive environment of the school

Essential Experience & Skills•    Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting children with ASC•    Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques•    Ability to work collaboratively with professionals, parents, and carers•    Experience delivering education outside of a conventional classroom setting•    Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies

Preferred Qualifications•    Team Teach or relevant safe handling training•    First Aid certification•    Autism Level 1 & 2 qualifications
