Duration: 6 Months

A fantastic opportunity has been highlighted for a Digital Training and Capability Development Lead to join our high-profile clients team, leading on a new competency framework!

As a business, they play a vital role in connecting millions of people to the energy they use, while continually seeking ways to make the energy system cleaner, and they are passionate in ensuring their teams have the tools and support to develop and maximise their skills!

Job Purpose:

To create meaningful career progression by acting as the main point of contact for developing and implementing a robust capability framework to enhance engineering capability and training of colleagues within their Asset Engineering department.

This role involves developing and managing training programs for new talent, including upskilling and reskilling initiatives, such as the creation of a Standard Transmission Engineer Competency Framework supported with development planning.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Promote the Capability Framework: Present updates to senior colleagues to ensure understanding, support, and buy-in.
  • Communicate Effectively: Deliver training information confidently through written bulletins and presentations.
  • Manage the Learning System: Oversee course registrations and completions to ensure timely and appropriate training.
  • Enhance Capability Management: Continuously improve the system with new features and elements.
  • Develop and Improve Data Standards: Measure training effectiveness and refine performance metrics.
  • Collaborate on Training Success: Work with Asset Engineering Services to assess program impact.
  • Leverage Data for Improvement: Engage stakeholders to use data insights for continuous enhancement.
  • Execute the Learning Plan: Ensure employees enrol in and complete necessary training.
  • Ensure Course Availability: Maintain training accessibility and compliance

What You'll need:

  • Leadership: You are Proactive, curious, and use your own initiative to comfortably work autonomously, or as part of broader network/team to deliver outcomes and/or resolve problems. Experience of providing a mix of strategic and tactical solutions to current business problems.
  • Stakeholder Management: You'll excel at interacting with all types of people and can adapt your style effortlessly, making an impact at all levels. You're able to identify stakeholder drivers to support wider business transformation decisions.
  • Change Management experience: Proven track record of success in developing and improving systems, processes and culture, through customer/stakeholder focused approaches.
  • Content Creation: Experience of utilising innovative and engaging methods to support creation of training material, with the end stakeholder in mind to ensure clear understanding.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of operational policies, procedures, and processes. Advanced knowledge and experience of design, extension and lifetime management of assets associated with particular areas of engineering expertise.
