We are currently working in partnership with an Academy, who are looking for a Funding & Finance Officer to join to the team!

This will be a full-time, permanent position based in Guildford, Surrey, with hybrid working (1-2 days home working) and a salary of £32,000 per annum

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of customer service, sales ledger and credit control experience dealing with students, parents and sponsors.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Dealing with applications for scholarships, bursaries, hardship awards, audition fee waivers etc including requesting more information when required, assessing them, providing the outcome and preparing the necessary paperwork for acceptances
  • Holding meetings with students accepted onto courses to determine if any funding will be required
  • Keeping abreast of the changing student funding landscape
  • Raising invoices for student fees and any other income
  • Recording all customer receipts and customer refund payments as per the bank statements on the accounting system- Sage and the allocation of those receipts to the relevant invoice(s)
  • Recording all nominal receipts as per the bank statements on Sage, ensuring accurate coding and VAT treatment
  • Recording cash and card receipts on the relevant spreadsheets
  • Reconciling bulk receipts received via Worldpay or similar payment scheme to the MIS system as required
  • Creating and monitoring spreadsheets for different income streams and reporting on them
  • Credit control- including chasing of overdue debtor balances, dealing with student queries, dealing with the debt collectors and providing reporting of outstanding amounts
  • Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management

Experience, skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Experience required in the Education sector or similar (performing arts)
  • Financial management and budgeting

Working hours, rewards and benefits:
