The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in the Accounting & Finance department, handling complex accounting tasks and contributing to the financial success of our retail client based in Surrey.

Description

  • Support the monthly and quarterly reporting in the group consolidation system, ensuring integrity of the numbers included within the financial statements for external filing
  • Prepare the monthly treasury controllership report, including key analysis on foreign exchange, interest and cashflow
  • Review the weekly Corporate cashflow actuals against forecast
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders on key issues including Treasury, Group Reporting, Technical Accounting and FP&A
  • Review processes performed by the offshore controllership team for record to report activity
  • Supporting adherence with policies and procedures and controls, including hedge documentation and effectiveness testing requirements
  • Aid in the completion and audit of the statutory accounts prepared under FRS 101
  • Assist on ad hoc transactions including internal restructuring and new hedging and debt instruments
  • Support transformational and simplification initiatives, driving best practice through Treasury and Corporate entities

Profile

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent Excel skills.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team, demonstrating high levels of collaboration and cooperation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
