Accounts Assistant

We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant for a short-term placement within our finance team. This position arises as we bridge the gap between a departing team member and the recruitment of a permanent replacement. The role is crucial for maintaining our financial operations smoothly and efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:

Accounts Payable (50%)

  • Ensure all purchases are accompanied by an authorised purchase order.
  • Code invoices correctly within the iFinance system.
  • Ensure timely authorisation of invoices by managers.
  • Prepare payment runs and maintain up-to-date supplier information, including bank details and contact information.

General Accounting/Other (50%)

  • Update and reconcile the fixed asset system monthly.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Prepare information for the annual audit.
  • Manage and reconcile the school’s petty cash and credit cards.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Manage the Expenses system (Concur) and import data into the finance system.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar financial role, ideally within an educational or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with iFinance or similar financial systems; quick learner for new software.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
