Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Sybase: Extensive hands-on experience with Sybase database administration.
  • DBA: Proven track record as a Database Administrator.
  • Oracle: Knowledge of Oracle databases is essential.
  • SQL Server: Familiarity with SQL Server is highly desirable.
  • Support: Strong background in providing database support.
  • ITIL: Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.

Highly Advantageous:

  • Previous experience in the financial services industry.

Role Overview: As a Sybase DBA, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of Sybase databases within a financial services environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of database systems. Your knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server will be invaluable in supporting our diverse database environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Sybase databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
  • Provide expert support for database-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving any problems that arise.
  • Work closely with other DBAs and IT teams to optimize database performance and implement best practices.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of database upgrades, migrations, and other projects.
  • Adhere to ITIL processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Competitive daily rate of £700 (umbrella).
