We are seeking a dedicated SEN ASD Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time, temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting primary school students aged 5-12 with special educational needs, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidates will need to have the ability to drive, due to the location of the school. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Utilise specialised teaching strategies and tools to engage and support students with ASD.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students under the guidance of the teacher, adapting support methods to meet their evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to maximise student learning and well-being.
  • Help create a supportive, understanding, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Travel between school locations as needed to provide consistent support to all assigned students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with ASD, within a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with ASD and effective strategies to address these in an educational context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Ability to drive and access to a vehicle, as travel between locations is required.
