Project Manager (Financial Services)

Location : Surrey

Salary : up to £70,000 plus benefits

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in financial services to drive business and technology change across key programmes. You will be responsible for delivering projects that align with both tactical needs and strategic business initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management
  • Lead multiple projects within a programme or independently, ensuring compliance with project methodologies.
  • Develop business cases and manage project initiation, working with cross-functional teams to define goals, solutions, estimates, schedules, and costs.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans in MS Project, tracking progress against baselines.
  • Drive execution, proactively addressing deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Identify and propose new, high-value projects to enhance the overall portfolio.
Governance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and financial services industry best practices.
  • Maintain and manage project RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) registers.
  • Manage project scope, plans, costs, and benefits, ensuring clear communication of any changes to stakeholders.
  • Lead post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Financial & Benefits Management
  • Develop and track project budgets, ensuring financial discipline.
  • Maintain business cases, ensuring projected benefits remain aligned with project scope.
  • Map financial and non-financial benefits, assigning ownership and tracking realisation post-project.
Stakeholder & Change Management
  • Act as a bridge between developers, solution architects, business analysts, and change managers.
  • Lead stakeholder communication, ensuring transparency on project objectives, risks, and progress.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to align business and technology teams.
  • Support sponsors in presenting and securing approvals for business cases and project milestones.
  • Ensure smooth business change adoption by engaging key stakeholders and providing visibility of project impact.
Essential Requirements

? Extensive experience as a Project Manager in financial services (Banking, Insurance, Credit, Loans, or Payments).? Proven track record in delivering business and IT transformation projects.? Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services.? Proficiency in MS Project, RAID management, and governance frameworks.? Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.? Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.? Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile).
