Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to the current HSE Manager coming up for retirement early next year they are looking to recruit for a suitable replacement.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of the Health, Safety & Environmental systems across the manufacturing site, whilst promoting group level processes & procedures
  • Working closely with other leadership departmental manager to drive & lead HSE strategies
  • Managing a health & safety assistant with daily workload and tasks
  • Driving the safety improvement plans for site, covering legal compliance, new H&S policies, environmental impact, staff engagement, training, best practice
  • Risk assessments, H&S audits, machine safety (PUWER) & procedure creation
  • Hazard reports, contractor management, SSoW schedules

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must have worked in a manufacturing industry - understanding of production machinery
  • At least 5 years+ in a similar HSE managerial position
  • Strong influencing & communication skills
  • Able to create new H&S procedures and policies
  • Be a proactive and approachable individual
  • Must have a NEBOSH General Certificate (Minimum Qualification)
  • Experienced in safety & legal compliance for manufacturing
  • Able to create risk assessments and SSoW
  • Qualified auditor is desirable
  • Experience of BRC & ISO Standards
  • Knowledge of 140001 Environmental
  • Able to train, coach people
  • IOSH Health & Safety
