A prestigious independent school in Surrey is seeking a Teacher of Religious Studies who is looking for the next step in their career, into senior leadership. The Role:
As Head of Religious Studies, you will:
- Lead the RS department, ensuring the delivery of an engaging and high-quality GCSE Religious Studies curriculum (AQA B: Catholic Christianity & Judaism)
- Oversee the teaching of RE from Year 4 through to GCSE.
- Develop and implement curriculum improvements, assessments, and staff development initiatives.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Chaplain to enhance the school's spiritual life and pastoral care.
- Play a key role in recruiting, mentoring, and managing departmental staff.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A passionate and experienced Religious Studies teacher with a track record of outstanding teaching and curriculum leadership.
- Experience teaching AQA GCSE Religious Studies (or equivalent)
- A dynamic leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience managing budgets and departmental resources.
