Teacher of Religious Studies - Independent School - Part Time - Permanent

Start Date: September 2025 - 4 days a week

A prestigious independent school in Surrey is seeking a Teacher of Religious Studies. This is an opportunity for an experienced Teacher of Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy or Humanities who is looking for an excellent opportunity to shape the future of Religious Education within this highly regarded setting and be a part of a dedicated team who's input and energy ensures the highest levels of attainment within this subject area.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator to step into a leadership role at a school known for its academic excellence, strong community ethos, and outstanding facilities.

The Role:

As a Teacher of Religious Studies, you will:

  • Ensure the delivery of an engaging and high-quality GCSE Religious Studies curriculum (AQA B: Catholic Christianity & Judaism)
  • Plan and deliver the teaching of RE from Year 4 through to GCSE
  • Monitor and provide provision to support predicted attainment levels across your classes
  • Take on form tutor responsibilities
  • Maintain Teachers Standards and awareness of Safeguarding within schools
  • Continually develop your own pedagogical understanding and teaching practice
  • Create positive, professional relationships with parents
  • Engage with existing and deliver extra curricular opportunities to pupils across the school
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Chaplain to enhance the school's spiritual life and pastoral care

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A passionate and experienced Religious Studies teacher
  • Experience teaching AQA GCSE Religious Studies (or equivalent)
  • A dynamic educator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships with colleagues and pupils alike
