2nd Line Support Engineer

We are working with a brand new customer who are a boutique IT support services company. They have a diverse client base which is ideal for someone who is looking for a little bit of variety in the daily working lives.

Job Role

This role sits within the IT engineering team and will be hybrid support role comprising a mixture of dedicated onsite support, remote support and installation services for our SME customers.

The successful candidate is expected to rotate between the 3 disciplines for new and existing customers. The role will be predominately be based at our offices in Surrey, where you will be part of the ServiceDesk team who are the single point of contact for all IT related queries for our customers. From there you will co-ordinate the maintenance of computer hardware, software, peripherals, as well as resolving any IT based problems.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the point of contact for all IT support requests and queries for clients Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components Supporting people whenever they encounter challenges with computers, smartphones, tablets, printers and network devices Update the ticketing system, ensuring the call has been logged and all notes, progress and required actions have been input promptly and accurately

Key Skills

High level of 2nd line IT support skills and very strong troubleshooting skills

Experience in the installation, configuration and support of desktop/laptops, various types of peripheral hardware (including printers, smartphones and tablets)

Proven knowledge and demonstrated experience in the operation & administration of Google Workspace. Experience with Microsoft 365 would also be an advantage

Eperience of managing tablets/mobiles and Windows 10/11 devices with Intune or equivalent

Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and MAC operating systems

Good networking fundamental skills including LAN, WAN, VPN, Routers, Firewalls

Strong communication skills

Driving License & own vehicle
