Technical leadership role which will serve on the IT & Data Leadership team responsible for Business Intelligence and Data Engineering across the business. Nationwide organisation, operating within a sector that affects every person across the UK.

We're looking for a strong Technical leader, someone that enjoys, and has strong experience with the MS BI Stack, most notably Synapse, Azure and Power BI.

This role will be responsible for shaping roadmaps, leading and growing a small team's technical capability.

Current environment is Azure, Synapse, Power BI but are likely to push towards Fabric in the short term

The role will lead a small but growing team, currently sitting at 2 people. So this role will be hands on, and could even suit a Business Intelligence / Data Architect style profile. As well as the hands-on Data Engineering Manager, BI Leader, BI Manager, or Head of BI/Data within a small team.

Lots of stuff planned, and working within a business where C-level (CFO/CEO) are truly bought into Business Intelligence and Data.

Key areas of the role include:

  • Building a BI/Data strategy and roadmap for the business, working closely with the ITD and wider business
  • Responsible for Business Intelligence team management including recruitment, appraisals, etc
  • Overall accountability for the design and implementation of BI and Data solutions for the business
  • Mentoring and coaching the BI/Data community, as well as staying up to date with BI offerings and solutions across the industry (largely Microsoft)
  • Translating stakeholder requirements into technical requirements
  • Lead and deliver on any BI/Data Projects within the business

Expertise/experience:

  • Ex-practitioner that's moved into BI/Data leadership or management, likely someone operating in a Business Intelligence / Data Lead, BI Manager or Head of BI Role
  • Experience in implementing cutting edge BI solutions into a well-respected company
  • Proven experience within the Microsoft stack, this can be hands on, or leading through people (Power BI / Synapse / Azure / Fabric)

Hybrid based 3/2 in Surrey, at the business HQ. commutable from most surrounding areas including London, Reading, Bracknell, Slough, Woking, Guildford, Farnham London, Kingston Upon Thames, Hounslow, Epsom and more.
