About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior and Lead Project Engineer to join the team of a global engineering organisation following significant project wins. This is a leadership-level opportunity, suited to professionals with a strong track record in complex engineering project delivery across high-hazard or technically advanced industrial environments.

As a senior figure within the project delivery team, you will drive multi-million-pound engineering projects from conception to completion, overseeing technical and commercial performance. This role goes beyond coordination — it demands strategic oversight, mentorship of junior engineers, and the ability to influence key decisions across engineering and stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of capital engineering projects, typically between £100k–£3M, across the UK and Ireland.

  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring design integrity, commercial alignment, and delivery to SHEQ standards.

  • Guide and challenge feasibility studies, cost estimates, and technical proposals.

  • Act as the focal point for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and third-party customers.

  • Oversee risk, schedule, quality, and budget management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and process improvement initiatives within the engineering function.

  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers within the team.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Process, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

  • 5+ years of experience in project engineering within process-driven industries such as chemical, oil & gas, manufacturing, or energy.

  • Proven success in delivering multidisciplinary projects to time, cost, and quality expectations.

  • Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, and risk management frameworks.

  • Experience working with high-value assets and critical safety and quality standards (SHEQ).

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.

  • Eligible to live and work in the UK.

What’s on Offer:
This is a standout opportunity for an experienced engineering professional ready to step into a key leadership role with long-term progression. You will be empowered to shape how complex projects are delivered and play a crucial part in a high-performing, inclusive, and forward-thinking engineering team.

Diversity and Inclusion:
We are proud to foster a workplace that champions equality, diversity, and inclusion. Applications are welcomed from candidates of all backgrounds, and we actively support underrepresented groups in engineering and technology.
