The RoleAs a Private Client Solicitor, the successful candidate will handle a diverse range of private client matters, including:
- Drafting both simple and complex wills.
- Providing lifetime tax planning advice and assisting with estate administration.
- Advising on powers of attorney, elderly client matters, and Court of Protection issues.
- Offering guidance on inheritance tax planning and trusts.
- Building and maintaining long-term client relationships while delivering excellent client care.
This role offers a high level of client interaction and the opportunity to work with individuals and families, often dealing with sensitive issues in a professional and compassionate manner. The firm offers both full-time and part-time options to suit the candidate's preferences.
Skills and Experience Required
- Sound knowledge and experience in all aspects of private client law, including simple and complex wills, lifetime tax planning, estate administration, powers of attorney, elderly client matters, and Court of Protection.
- Highly organised with an understanding of regulatory compliance procedures and familiarity with Lexcel and ISO standards.
- Genuine interest in private client work, with a focus on providing practical, compassionate, and thorough advice to clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, accurately, and in a straightforward manner.
- Ability to maintain billing levels in accordance with agreed targets.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to use case management systems and software efficiently.
- People-friendly and a team player with a proactive approach to both client care and business development.
- A keen interest in identifying and capturing new business while contributing to the team's development.
