As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and enhance their logistics operations while collaborating closely with the production team to ensure seamless integration across all functions.

Description

The Logistics Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of logistics, including; transportation, warehousing, inventory control and product distribution. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that prioritise cost-effectiveness, timeliness, and service quality.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure alignment of logistics operations with production schedules and resource planning.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and freight carriers, negotiating favourable terms, rates, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure stock availability, timely replenishment, and efficient turnover to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Analyse and improve logistics processes, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and streamline operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, ensuring high performance, engagement, and growth.
  • Resolve any logistics-related issues or delays to minimise disruption to production work flows and customer deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards, particularly in relation to hazardous material handling and transportation requirements (if applicable).
  • Track and report on key logistics metrics, including delivery performance, shipping costs, and inventory turnover, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Assist in production planning, offering logistical support to optimise resources and ensure efficient production flow.

Profile

The successful Logistics Manager will be able to commute to our clients site in Surrey and be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in a distribution, warehousing or transport environment.
  • Proficiency with logistics and ERP software
  • In-depth understanding of production processes and the ability to coordinate logistics functions to meet production goals.
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards, including hazardous materials handling, is highly desirable.
