ROLE – Mechanical Design EngineerSALARY - £30,000-£40,000, dependent on experienceTYPE – PermanentLOCATION – Surrey My client designs and manufactures bespoke equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Surrey area on a permanent basis.     The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
  • Proficient with using 3D CAD – ideally SolidWorks or AutoCAD 
  • Knowledge of machinery, precision equipment and electronic products
  • Degree / ONC / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified or similar in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering / Industrial Design or similar 
  • Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets 
  • Experienced designing products from concept to production 
  • Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry 
  • Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication and plastic injection moulding
  • Innovative, accurate and passionate about design 
  • Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Being responsible for the Design and Development of various electromechanical products 
  • Using SolidWorks CAD software for design on a day-to-day basis
  • Developing ideas from concept to production 
  • Creating models/prototypes
  • Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
  • Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects 
  • Maintaining technical drawings and documentation 
  • Providing technical guidance and support
  • Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation 
  • Supporting more junior members of the team
