- At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design / Development position
- Ideally experienced working with machinery, conveyors, rotating equipment, engines, motors, mechatronics and other equipment with moving parts and systems
- Strong 3D CAD skills – ideally SolidWorks or Inventor
- Experience in a variety of sectors would be beneficial – Aerospace, Automotive, SPM etc.
- Hands-on industry experience ideally working in a similar design role within a machine shop / workshop / manufacturing environment
- Degree / ONC / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experienced designing products from concept to production
- Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
- Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
- Innovative, accurate and passionate about design
- Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
- Being responsible for the Design and Development of various products and systems
- Using SolidWorks and Inventor software for design on a day-to-day basis
- Being responsible for research, hand calculations, FEA, testing and prototyping
- Managing the full product lifecycle from concept to production
- Creating models/prototypes
- Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
- Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
- Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
- Providing technical guidance and support
- Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
- Supporting more junior members of the team
