What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Locum Occupational Therapist working in an acute hospital setting, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients with a range of medical, surgical, and neurological conditions
  • Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to support patients’ rehabilitation and discharge planning
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, nurses, and medical staff, to ensure a seamless patient journey
  • Providing specialist advice on adaptive equipment, functional independence, and environmental modifications
  • Supporting patients in early mobilisation, cognitive rehabilitation, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Managing a caseload of complex cases and prioritising care effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Contributing to service development initiatives and mentoring junior staff or students where applicable

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • HCPC registration and relevant professional memberships
  • Previous experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally at Band 6 or Band 7 level
  • Strong knowledge of discharge planning, frailty, orthopaedics, neurology, and general medical conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A proactive and patient-focused approach to care delivery

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role is full-time but open to part-time applicants. The contract is ongoing, with the potential for extension based on service needs and performance.
