Main purpose of job  

To lead the Compliance Team in the UK that acts as a safeguard for the business, promotes ethical practices, ensures regulatory compliance, mitigates risk and supports the overall wellbeing of the company as well as for our clients. 

Key Accountabilities

  • To positively lead and develop the UK Compliance Team 
  • Create and execute the Compliance strategy for the business in conjunction with the Executive Director - Operations 
  • Be the face of the organisation with the regulators, auditors, chartered institutes and PI insurers
  • Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations and communicate and cascade these in a way that is appropriate for the business
  • Monitor market developments and share information at an early stage to ensure the business can positively react to upcoming change  
  • Lead the Risk Committee process and ensure the risk matrix remains updated
  • Be an active member of OPCO providing updates, trend analysis and management information as appropriate including Fair Value  
  • Produce board papers and updates to EXCO, Board and Group as appropriate  
  • Build positive relationships and collaborate across the business, including France & Europe, and beyond through active Business Partnering
  • Provide a knowledge of and insight into European regulations where appropriate that may impact our UK operation including the Lloyds environment  
  • Provide guidance & training to employees on regulatory changes and the law 
  • Work with the business to ensure that policies & procedures are relevant, accurate, understood and embedded in what we do 
  • Manage and ensure the correct level of audits and role plays are carried out
  • Support the business meet its growth aspirations by supporting new business pitches, agreeing TOBAs, acquisitions, etc and participate in company projects and initiatives
  • Oversight and management of all complaints and Errors & Omissions with effective reporting carried out 
  • Oversight and management of any data breaches with effective reporting carried out  
  • Ensure marketing materials, presentations and websites are compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Carry out required regulatory returns or surveys
  • Support reviews of contracts
  • Liaise with our Compliance Advisors
