Procurement Assistant
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal service delivery and value for money. You will also drive continuous improvement and manage supplier performance effectively. Key responsibilities include:
Rate - £250.00 per day inside ir35
Location - Surrey 4 days a week onsite
Duration - 12 Months
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products and services meet governance requirements, deliver value for money, and achieve the required service levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and champion opportunities for process and performance improvements within the procurement and supplier management function.
- Workload Management: Agree upon and manage priorities, addressing any concerns and escalating issues as needed.
- Systems Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of the company's systems, including purchase-to-pay, risk management, and supplier management tools.
- Contract Management: Oversee the lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance and delivering the required service outcomes.
- Supplier Performance Management: Proactively manage and address instances of supplier underperformance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Sourcing and Contracting Documentation: Raise formal documents such as Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), assessment documents, and Purchase Orders.
- Supplier Payments: Manage the supplier payment process, ensuring timely resolution of any goods receiving and supplier debt issues.
- Cost Savings: Identify, deliver, and document savings where possible.
- Order Book Management: Ensure timely deliveries and accurate cash forecasting by effectively managing the order book.
- Team Leadership: Take ownership of specific areas of activity on behalf of the wider team and support the development of junior team members.
- Procurement Advocacy: Represent and advocate for the Procurement function within the business.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with colleagues to identify, escalate, and mitigate any procurement-related risks.
