We are working with a prominent firm in the commercial fit-out sector, recruiting a talented Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial aspects of various projects, specialising in Mechanical and Building Services on Cat A and B projects in Central London. Reporting to the Directors, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our broader project teams to ensure projects are completed on budget and to top-notch standards.

You can be based either from the office in Cheam or sites in Central London.

About You

  • Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial fit-outs, preferably with a focus on mechanical work (not essential).
  • Skills: Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Outlook, plus expertise in cost reporting, budget forecasting, and handling project finances.
  • Expertise: Thorough understanding of contract documents, valuation preparation, and variation agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce budget estimates, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts with accuracy.
  • Manage contracts, issue required notices, and evaluate tender submissions diligently.
  • Submit and agree monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts with stakeholders.
  • Procure supplier and subcontractor packages to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Oversee subcontractor agreements, sorting out any disputes that crop up.
  • Act as the company’s representative in client meetings, building solid relationships and securing positive commercial results.
