We are seeking a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Surrey. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about teaching drama to students aged 4-6 weeksĀ and is committed to fostering a love for the performing arts among young learners.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring drama lessons that engage and motivate young students.
  • Develop studentsā€™ understanding of drama through various teaching methods including storytelling, role-playing, and performance.
  • Assess and record studentsā€™ progress and provide feedback to help them improve their performance skills.
  • Organise and direct school plays or performances, coordinating with other staff members for set design, costumes, and public performances.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate drama into a broader educational curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
  • Attend staff meetings, parent consultations, and training workshops to ensure continuous personal and professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Drama or Performing Arts.
  • Experience teaching drama to young children, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs and curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Creative and dynamic approach to teaching and learning.
