We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a lovely secondary school in Surrey. In this role, you will primarily work with Year 7 and 8 students, providing learning support for core subjects. You will also be responsible for delivering pre-prepared interventions for literacy and numeracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in managing the classroom, ensuring a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Provide individual and small group support to pupils, including those with SEND or EAL needs
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities to support children's academic progress.
  • Monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and supporting assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to contribute to whole-class and targeted interventions.
  • Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Engage with parents and carers, providing updates on pupil progress where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum for Year 6 and Year 7.
  • Experience delivering lessons and managing a classroom effectively.
  • A passion for supporting childrenā€™s learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all students.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
