Reed Education are representing a brilliant SEN Secondary School in Effingham, and we are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our teachers and enriching the lives of our students. Our students, aged 11-16, are autistic and may have associated behavioural and communication difficulties, with some facing multiple learning challenges.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding:
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Provide feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.
- Monitor and intervene in pupils’ conduct and behaviour, maintaining records as necessary.
- Supporting Teaching and Learning:
- Lead classes in the absence of Class Teachers.
- Assist with the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver teaching and learning activities to individuals or small groups, adapting activities as necessary.
- Develop and implement individual educational plans for pupils, including attending and contributing to reviews.
- Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, particularly in SEN settings.
- Strong understanding of the needs of autistic students and those with multiple learning difficulties.
- Ability to lead and teach, demonstrating patience and creativity.
- Strong commitment to professional development and pupil welfare.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
