Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teaching staff to implement effective individual education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Social Skills Development: Facilitate and encourage positive social interactions among students to enhance their social skills and integration.
  • Progress Monitoring: Keep detailed records of student progress, providing valuable feedback to both educational staff and parents to foster a collaborative approach to education.
  • Innovative Teaching: Employ specialized instructional strategies designed to enhance learning outcomes and maintain student engagement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven Experience: Solid background as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), particularly in SEN/ASD settings. HLTA qualification is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Expert Knowledge: Deep understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by students with special educational needs and autism.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
