Reed Education are representing a wonderful SEN School in Effingham, and we're looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support our amazing autistic students aged 11-16. �? What You'll Do:- Champion Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of our pupils, adhering to school policies including safeguarding and PREVENT.
- Provide Insightful Feedback: Share meaningful observations on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.
- Foster Positive Behaviour: Support and encourage positive behaviour and concentration, adapting to any changes or escalations.
- Build Trusting Relationships: Establish a safe and supportive environment where pupils can thrive and enjoy learning.
- Promote Independence: Encourage personal development and maintain high expectations of behaviour.
- Enhance Learning: Assist in implementing and adjusting learning activities, reinforcing concepts presented by teachers.
- Resource Management: Arrange and provide resources for lessons and activities under the teacher's direction.
- Support Curriculum Delivery: Help deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, aiming for pupils to achieve their full potential.
- Experience: Previous experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.
- Qualifications: Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent is desirable. GCSE Maths and English Language minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures. Experience with SEN or SEMH/ASD is a plus.
- Skills: Ability to provide consistent support, complete reports accurately, and be positive and creative in meeting pupils' needs.
- Commitment: Desire to put the child first, treat them as individuals, and participate in the school's behaviour support approach, including physical intervention if necessary.
