Reed Education are representing a wonderful secondary SEN School in Effingham, where we focus on delivering high-quality education to students aged 11-16 with ASD and other complex or anxiety-related needs. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of students through our nurture programme.
Day-to-Day of the Role:- Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to students with ASD and complex needs, focusing on both academic and personal development.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance educational practices and student well-being.
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans, setting clear targets to optimise each student’s learning experience.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress to parents, colleagues, and relevant bodies, ensuring compliance with school policies.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our curriculum, keeping abreast of current issues in the field of autism.
- Manage classroom behaviour within the school’s policies, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience in a special school environment, particularly with pupils with ASC and SEND.
- Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to pupils with diverse needs.
- Knowledge and experience of autism and how it can affect learning.
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and curriculum development for pupils with SEND.
- Further qualifications in SEND are desirable.
