Job Description:

The post holder will assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care programs independently. They will also participate in teaching and supervising nursing and non-nursing staff and may work on both the Children's Ward and the Paediatric area within the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include managing and delivering high standards of nursing care, ensuring effective communication with families, performing clinical roles, supporting training, maintaining records, promoting research-based practices, and upholding professional standards.

Skills:

  • Registered Nurse - Children
  • Significant post-registration experience in an acute setting
  • Substantial experience on an acute surgical ward
  • HDU competencies, IV trained, Central line trained, Cannulation & venepuncture
  • Ability to work with and mentor junior staff
  • Awareness of professional responsibilities
  • Understanding of normal child development
