AR726 - Technical Compliance Lead Salary: £CompetitiveLocation: LedburyOverview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Technical Compliance Lead on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a role model and advocate for quality, environment, sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Support delivery of the manufacturing strategy in areas related to quality, environment and sustainability of both inputs and outputs.
- Co-ordinate the site’s hygiene inspections calendar, including training and preparation of audit materials, monitoring & reporting to identify reoccurrences and determining appropriate actions.
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance procedures, identify vulnerabilities and gaps in compliance and recommend changes to improve.
- Lead ISO14001 audit and assist with any other external audits in relation to food safety and quality.
- Ensure that all activity complies with site standards (BRC, ISO9001, Organic, ISO 14001 etc) & aligns to the integrated management system.
- Issue certificates of analysis with % ingredients and method of manufacture and any other export documents.
- Conduct traceability audits and mass balance exercises.
- Assist artwork approval activities ensuring accurate calculation of nutritional information & all other legal requirements are met.
- Undertake root cause analysis (RCA) to establish sustainable improvements especially for complaints and any environment issues.
- Support the Technical Lead in relation to non-conformance tracker and ensure all actions are logged and evidence saved in the correct file.
- Monitor and review key performance indicators (KPIs) and report monthly.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture, conduct spot checks while working in collaboration with other departments, to improve quality, controls, operating performance, reduce waste and control cost.
- Review and update quality contracts and any other documentation required for exports.
- Manage document control approvals and updates of the integrated management system; ensuring all documents include food safety, environment and health and safety.
- Train staff e.g. induction, hygiene inspections, internal audits and any other requirements such as procedures / work instruction etc.
- Support Technical Advisor with data gathering for ESSOS, ESG reporting.
- Monitor environmental legislation and regulations.
- To always work in a professional manner, carrying out the duties outlined.
- All employees will comply with the management system documentation as required by the Quality Management Systems Standard (QMS) – ISO9001, British Environmental Management System Standard ISO 14001 and any other standards / legal requirements pertinent to the role.

- To undertake training as and when required in order to enhance skills within the position.

- Identifying and addressing any potential risks to brand integrity, notifying your line manager and/or a member of the technical team, so proactive steps can be taken to resolve them.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree educated.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in technical, compliance or auditing roles within food manufacturing.
- High attention to detail.
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
- Internal audit.
- Statistical analysis.
- Proficient in IT literacy with experience of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI.
