We are now recruiting for a Prototype Engineer to join an established manufacturing business based in the Ledbury area. The Prototype Engineer will be responsible for producing prototype, supporting design and development projects working with the manufacturing teams to produce accurate prototypes. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing environments and experience working with technical drawings.
As the Prototype Engineer you will be responsible for :
* Supporting design & development and working with design, development, engineering and manufacturing teams to produce accurate prototypes
* Work with design engineers using knowledge to enhance the development of designs
* Reading drawings, using precision instruments and assisting in problem solving
* Monitoring of production testing
* Working in a fabrication environment
* Working to Quality standards (ISO 9001)
* Working to technical drawings
* Basic machine maintenance and the upkeep of machinery
* Work with a wide range of materials (Metal, Wood and plastics)
Requirements:
* An Engineering background working in a fabrication environment
* Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases)
* A good understanding of engineering and fabrication procedures/drawings
* Able to use fabrication/welding machinery
* Able to read and interpret drawings
* Excellent Communication skills
