We are recruiting for a Buyer to join a very well established, yet growing and dynamic global organisation within the horticultural market based at their UK headquarters in Ledbury. If you enjoy problem solving within an environment where it is the norm to challenge ideas then this could be the ideal career move for you! This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm offering a salary up to £35k per annum based on experience with the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week following a successful 6 month probationary period. Fantastic benefits are also on offer including increased annual leave with level of service, 1 month sabbatical after 10 years, annual bonus based on company performance, annual cricket match etc!!As Buyer reporting into the Procurement Manager working in a team of 4 others you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of customer orders, directly influencing the company's success with your efforts in cost-saving measures and supplier management being truly acknowledged and valued.Key Responsibilities will include: - Develop and lead supplier selection strategies and manage existing suppliers through audits and KPI metrics.- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure sufficient cashflow, payment terms, stock holding, packaging, handling, and compliance.- Conduct supplier visits and audits to maintain high performance.- Perform quarterly supplier reviews, negotiating service and costs to meet company objectives.- Create and support Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with suppliers.- Manage daily system updates, vendor card management, and pricing breaks.- Resolve invoice queries and conduct benchmarking exercises for cost efficiency.- Plan inventory considering sales demand, stock safety levels, and cashflow.- Introduce new suppliers following controlled processes, including QC and ethical audits.- Draft supplier and service agreements, and maintain commodity strategies.- Execute cost-saving plans where necessary.Required Skills and Experience- Minimum of 4 years in a Buyer/ Procurement role or 5 years in a supply chain role.- Understanding of Procurement code of conduct and global practices.- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems like MS Dynamics Navision or SAP would be ideal but training can be given.- CIPS qualification is desirable or the ambition to work towards this would be great- Ability to interpret technical drawings and analyse data/ KPIs.- Comfortable working under pressure with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.- Full clean driving licenceBenefits Include:
