TeacherActive is currently collaborating with an Ofsted-rated 'Good' SEMH secondary school located in a serene rural area in Ledbury. This independent, specialist day school provides educational services to children and young people aged 11-19 years who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as communication and interaction difficulties, among other related needs. These include diagnoses such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), attachment disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), specific learning difficulties (SpLD), and speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

I am seeking a qualified Maths Teacher with experience in alternative provision who can fully engage with the role. The ideal candidate will excel at building strong relationships with vulnerable children, encouraging them to explore, question, and challenge. They should also be able to work collaboratively with staff members as part of a team. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role where you will witness first-hand the impact of your influence and nurturing abilities on the learners.

The successful Maths Teacher will have:

  • Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically SEMH, ASD, ADHD
  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths
  • Certificate in Education/ PGCE /  DTLLS/ DET
  • Able to plan and deliver lessons to ensure students are getting the most out of classroom time
  • Have own vehicle or ability to travel to site
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills enabling you to work with colleagues and students at all levels
