Job Title: Costs DraftsmenLocation: West YorkshireExperience within a Costs roleThe RoleAs part of my clients in-house costs team, you’ll provide crucial support to the Clinical Negligence Fee Earners by managing costs for clinical negligence cases. You will play an essential role in improving and streamlining costs processes.Key Responsibilities:
  • Costs Management: Calculate payments on account of costs and coordinate with Fee Earners and the Head of Funding.
  • Costs Recovery: Assist in calculating and recovering fixed costs and disbursements from the paying party.
  • Third-Party Payments: Manage payments to third parties, including medical experts, agencies, and barristers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • File Management: Oversee file closure and handle write-offs to maintain an organized system.
  • Insurance Claims: Manage claims on insurance policies, including assisting with negotiations on disputed claims for successful resolutions.
  • Data Collation: Collect data related to insurance claims to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Billing: Manage the billing of costs upon receipt to ensure smooth financial transactions.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvements in the costs administration process within the Clinical Negligence department.
  • Additional Duties: Take on any other responsibilities required to support the success of the team.
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with the option to be based in any of their 10 offices across Yorkshire. Occasional travel for team meetings may be required.What You’ll BringAs a Costs Coordinator in the Clinical Negligence team, they are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
  • Previous experience in a costs-related role (or similar)
  • Self-motivation and initiative
  • Strong numerical and organizational skills, with experience using Microsoft Office
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders effectively
