Reed Finance are partnering with a Leeds based public sector organisation. who are looking to hire a Financial Accountant. Really interesting time to join the organisation as they have experienced rapid growth over the last few years and are amid a large finance team restructure which includes several new hires.

Financial Accountant responsibilities:

•    Maintain and work within a robust monthly financial control process to monitor service delivery, investigating and resolving all problems.•    Operate within, and deliver outcomes in line with, the annual financial timetable,•    Liaise with Finance colleagues and colleagues from across the business to ensure delivery of corporate and financial outcomes by the required completion dates.•    Prepare comprehensive financial guidance notes relevant to the role and ensure operation in line with this guidance.•    Maintain a complete and current understanding of legislation, professional guidance, advice from internal/external audit, Accounting Standards and any internal or statutory requirements specific to the role.•    Support training and development initiatives for colleagues in finance and across the wider business.•    Respond to ad hoc requests for reports / information requests from colleagues in finance and across the business, including Freedom of Information requests, to time and to a high standard.

Key requirements:

•    CCAB qualified or passed finalist•    Previous experience in a similar position •    Strong understanding of financial controls•    Practical knowledge of financial reporting standards
