About the role:

As the Financial Controller, you'll be stepping into a pivotal role. With the founder transitioning into semi-retirement, this position offers the chance to lead and refine financial processes in a cash-positive, expanding company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the company values of Caring, Honesty, and Endurance.
  • Ensure accurate business transactions and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Collaborate on month-end close and year-end accounts with team and external accountants.
  • Manage bookkeeping, VAT returns, recurring invoicing, and weekly pay runs.
  • Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and monitor key business metrics.
  • Oversee monthly stock takes and customer/product profit analysis.
  • Maintain internal financial controls and optimise debt collection.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and continuous improvement in finance operations.

The Ideal Candidate:

You will thrive in fast-paced environments and have the following skills and qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
  • AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualified.
  • Strong experience with monthly closing processes, forecasting, budgeting, and customer billing.
  • Organised and analytical with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in Xero financial reporting.
