Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Controller with extensive experience in managing aged debt and liaising directly with clients to ensure smooth financial operations. Proficiency in Xero and a hands-on approach to financial management are essential for this role

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

  • Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, including invoicing, payments, and receipts.
  • Take charge of aged debt management, ensuring timely payments and resolving outstanding issues with clients.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and manage cash flow.

Client Liaison:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to address financial queries and ensure smooth transactions.
  • Proactively resolve issues related to payments and outstanding debts.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Generate and analyse financial reports, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

Compliance & Administration:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with preparing VAT returns and liaising with HMRC.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Support Functions:

  • Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as required.
  • Support other administrative functions to enhance overall organizational efficiency.

Key Requirements

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a financial management role, with expertise in aged debt management and client liaison.
  • Strong knowledge of Xero accounting software.

Skills:

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant financial or accounting qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Other Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid driving license.
  • Ability to commute to Harewood as required.
