Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Controller with extensive experience in managing aged debt and liaising directly with clients to ensure smooth financial operations. Proficiency in Xero and a hands-on approach to financial management are essential for this role
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, including invoicing, payments, and receipts.
- Take charge of aged debt management, ensuring timely payments and resolving outstanding issues with clients.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and manage cash flow.
Client Liaison:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to address financial queries and ensure smooth transactions.
- Proactively resolve issues related to payments and outstanding debts.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Generate and analyse financial reports, providing insights to support decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance & Administration:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist with preparing VAT returns and liaising with HMRC.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Support Functions:
- Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Support other administrative functions to enhance overall organizational efficiency.
Key Requirements
Experience:
- Proven experience in a financial management role, with expertise in aged debt management and client liaison.
- Strong knowledge of Xero accounting software.
Skills:
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications:
- Relevant financial or accounting qualifications are desirable but not essential.
Other Requirements:
- Must hold a valid driving license.
- Ability to commute to Harewood as required.
