The Role:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to manage the preparation of accurate, clear, and timely management information related to my clients company's premises portfolio and fixed asset register. This includes financial data under IFRS 16 accounting standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the forecasting, actuals, and budgeting of costs associated with the company’s premises portfolio under IFRS 16, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Manage the fixed asset register for all company entities, ensuring it is accurately maintained.
  • Handle the monthly management accounts for multiple statutory entities, including forecast, actual, and budget reviews.
  • Provide clear explanations of key variances in premises costs and fixed asset movements at both group and entity levels.
  • Maintain effective controls around your allocated areas of responsibility.
  • Partner with departmental heads, particularly the Facilities team, to address relevant issues.
  • Contribute to the production and review of monthly management accounts, business reviews, and board packs with appropriate commentary.
  • Participate in the audit process for both group and entity levels.
Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting and fixed asset accounting is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues clearly to stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Comfortable challenging processes and escalating issues when necessary.
  • A practical problem solver, capable of developing solutions to complex issues.
  • Keen attention to detail, with the ability to identify, investigate, and explain variances clearly.
  • Self-motivated with high energy, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proactive attitude toward sharing information and ideas.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments, emerging risks, and regulations.
  • Capable of consolidating and presenting information in a clear, digestible, and timely manner.
