Broster Buchanan is working in partnership with a leading not for profit organisation as they recruit a Project Accountant to join them to drive significant change and transformation to accounting systems and processes.Project Accountant Location: Hybrid - Leeds based c2 days per weekSalary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending upon experience12 months Fixed Term Contract - potential extensionWhere and who will you be working with?This is an instantly recognisable organisation who are undertaking a major transformation of their finance systems and processes. They are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to play a key role in this change initiative. You'll be working with a very wide variety of stakeholders in a collaborative, but intellectually stimulating environment.What will you be doing?As Project Accountant, you will supporting senior finance team members to bring significant improvements and efficiencies to their finance function.In your role, you will have a forward-thinking continuous improvement approach and will provide efficient and effective support across various finance workstreams within their change program.You'll build effective relationships at a senior level, demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement, have strong project management skills and can demonstrate an ability to successfully deliver projects and change.Additionally, you'll work across key areas including:
  • Leading aspects of the finance workstreams to ensure requirements are clearly documented, understood, communicated and planned
  • Driving improvements to processes and procedures with a focus on standardising, streamlining and automating
  • Developing a detailed understanding of finance and non-finance processes/systems
  • Liaising with and representing on formal and informal committees and working groups
  • Leading a portfolio of projects from inception to completion
What will you need to offer?This is a Project Accountant role so we would expect candidates to possess a recognised accountancy qualification or relevant senior experience, alongside a proven track record in finance transformation projects.Additionally, we are looking for candidates with:
  • Extensive experience of accounting, finance processes and providing professional financial and management accounting services
  • A broad knowledge of Finance process streams
  • Experience maintaining and/or implementing large accounting systems in complex organisations
  • Evidence of effectively initiating and implementing process change
  • Excellent project management skills to drive multiple projects to implementation - you'll be the sort of person who is good at "getting things done" and with a creative and positive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to interpret data strategically and affect decision-making through excellent influencing skills
  • Evidence of building successful relationships and promoting excellent team working practices
